Day 17 - 15 June - Dried Lagoon Camp to Bush Camp - 95 km

Left camp early and rode the 20 km to Robinson's River.  Great spot.  Wish we had of spent the night here.  The water was fast flowing and a bit deep in spots so we carried our panniers across and then went back for the bikes.

I just wheeled the bike across, but Joe babies his bike so he carried it across.

It was such a nice spot we put the billy on and had a cup of tea.  My mudguard had shaken loose soon after we left this morning so I fixed it with a cable tie while we were stopped.

The roads to Robinson River were shit (can I say that?) but after the river got better for awhile so we could start getting some speed.

Did a few more river crossings including the Foelshe River.

Roads turned bad again and so after about 60 km we stopped for lunch beside this lagoon.  Lunch was tuna provided by Tim and Nick and spoonfuls of peanut butter.  We are down to the bottom of the barrel for lunch and peanut butter by the spoonful is horrible, but great calorific value.

At 80 km mark decided that we would not be able to make Borroloola today so started riding the last 20 km while looking for a campsite.   Saw this tyre at the Spring Creek turn off.  That's what these roads do to tyres.

While we were riding a lady stopped and gave us a couple of mandarins.  Super stuff.  We really miss fresh food when in the bush.

Found one possible camp up a side road, but when I explored a bit more it turned out we would be camped very close to an Aboriginal drinking camp.  Decided to move on a few ks up the road.

Had the last of our pasta with...you guessed it, sardines for tea.  A bit cool and mosquitoes about so we were in bed by 7:30. Cannot wait the get to Boorroloola tomorrow.  We are only about 30 km away and as we are out of muesli will ride into town first thing and get some breakfast.  It will be a bit of a rest day so we can wash our filthy bodies, clothes, bikes etc.
