Day 21 - 19 June - October Creek Rest Stop to Microwave Tower - 120 km

We both had a good sleep and were up and on the road by 8:00.  The first hour was a slog until our legs started working properly.

Stopped for a break at 44 km and while we were there Graeme, Megan, Terry and Faye turned up and stopped.  We had spoken a few times with Graeme and Faye at Cape Crawford and he had offered to give us water when they passed us the next day.  They filled our water bottles, gave us Scotch Finger biscuits and made us a cup of tea.  Great to have a chat with them and thanks for stopping.

We pushed on, but instead of stopping after 20 km like we normally do, I kept going as there was another rest stop after Bullwaddy Nature Reserve that would have shade and a table.  You have no idea how I love eating at a table rather than on the ground.  35 km so a long haul, but well worth it.

Rested there for a few hours so we missed the worst of the hot sun then headed off for our final 40 km.  Luckily there was some cloud cover as the day went on.  I went ahead to try and find a campsite for the night.  Not that easy at times as the landscape is savannah grass, 2 - 3 foot high and tightly packed.  It's why we end up in quarries and dried out lagoons because they are the only flat clear spots.  Saw a telecom tower ahead and new it would be a good place for the night.

Wrote Joe a big sign on the roadside so he wouldn't miss it.

Had tea, yes you guessed it, pasta and sardines ... But this will be the last time we have sardines this trip, thank god.
