Got up early and were on the road by 7:30. Roads were good and although a few hills, generally pretty flat. We made great time once we turned off the Kennedy Hwy and headed west on the Gulf Development Road where we had a gentle breeze at our backs. We flew. I was doing 37 km uphill at one stage...OK it wasn't a steep gradient but still a good speed.
A few big road trains along the way - 4 trailers. I've never seen that before. No photos, they move too fast, but I got this one. We just keep out of their way.

Saw this sign on the way, but why would I want more bull, I've got Joe.

Stopped a few places along the way for a feed on the soggy very expensive sandwiches we bought at Mt Garnett just to keep the energy up and arrived at Mt Surprise by 12:15.

Not much here except for a great caravan park called Bedrock Village - pool, internet, washing machines, hot
and cold water. Staff are really friendly and cannot do enough to help. This place is a little oasis in the middle of nowhere.
We went on a Mystery Tour at 5:00 - gold coin donation. Who would think that you could have an hour tour around Mt. Surprise? There is only 60 people in town.

I liked the sign on the police station residence.
Liked all the quotes at the local (only) pub.
We went back and had tea at the camp cafe...sheer luxury.
Had a really good dinner of roast beef and veges.
In bed early and a great nights sleep.
